Anime: Kimetsu No Yaiba

Tanjiro Kamado, a kind hearted young boy from the Taisho era (1912-1926) in Japan, who’s peaceful life of selling coals for a living is changed in a blink of an eye, when his whole family was killled by demons. The only survivor? his younger sister Nezuko–now turned into a demon.

Tanjiro vows to avenge his family and turn Nezuko back into human.

Will Tanjiro be able to achieve his goal?

Quick Review: I was originally planning on writing a more detailed review about the current running anime series, but I couldn’t really decide whether I was going to write it into detailed piece or purely reaction based review. However, since there are a lot of anime bloggers out there who write better anime reviews that I do, I decided to share a reaction piece instead of the usual number rating all that. Here we go! 🙂

Plot/Story: To be honest, the first time I met with Tanjiro’s character, it didn’t seem like much of a story for me to begin with– and frankly if it weren’t for the art style itself, I would have long bailed on its debut at first. Then again, who knows– it’s nothing close to naruto, one piece or fullmetal alchemist standard, but hey! My opinion might still change, right?

Animation/Design Right, I dunno if it’s just my animation but, call me crazy to see the Waves of Kanagawa featured in this anime. The sword techniques were very interesting that I stuck around watching this show. Not to mention, Tanjiro’s and every character’s bad ass wardrobe, hair and overall character designs.

Characters While admittedly, I haven’t been too keen with Tanjiro’s character. I somehow find him a little bit too whiny for a young boy. Although, so is the rest of his little gang. I suppose I can still let it pass and see how their character’s would evolve from hereon forwards.

Overall: Since the anime series is said to be running for only 26 episodes only, I am rooting for a season 2 if all goes well. While there isn’t any information leaked out yet, regarding the possible outcome for the whole series.

for what its worth, in a way I did enjoy this show. So if you feel and think like this is your cup of tea, then here’s all you need to know. 🙂
